ISTB7 PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE
DeVinci played a key role in the completion of the ASU ISTB7 Pedestrian Bridge, supplying custom-engineered GFRC panels that were seamlessly integrated with the bridge’s steel frame. Each panel was parametrically modeled to create the bridge’s signature geometric canopy, combining intricate design with functional performance. The GFRC skin not only delivers a visually striking, organic aesthetic that complements the ISTB7 building and the surrounding campus but also provides critical solar shading and airflow, enhancing pedestrian comfort year-round.
The bridge connects the main campus to the Valley Metro light rail stop and the Novus Innovation Corridor, improving campus accessibility while establishing a bold architectural landmark. DeVinci’s expertise in complex GFRC fabrication allowed the design team to achieve the project’s ambitious vision, blending innovative design, structural integrity, and environmental performance into one of the most recognizable pedestrian crossings on the ASU campus.
