THE TEXAS TECH UNIVERSITY DUSTIN R. WOMBLE BASKETBALL CENTER

With its multitudes of finials, balusters, corbels, and modular pieces of ashlar, the Womble Basketball Center kept our cast stone plant busy and our drafters humming. True to Texan tradition of going big or going home, DeVinci spared no effort in giving our southern neighbor supreme quality and design. We shipped out 11-thousand-pound scrolled acroteria, 3Dmodeled concrete balconette sills, pendants, medallions, and a 33’-tall arched entryway fit for basketball giants. Our ability to shop-cast thousands of bricks into over 30 concrete arches allowed the masons to obtain a truly impressive setting rate of 1 arch-per-hour. All totaled, over nine thousand cubic feet of precast and GFRC left Oklahoma for Texas. At least they send us a postcard from time to time.
